On 3:45PM October 25th, the Westhampton Beach Fire Department were dispatched to a reported vehicle into building at 7-11 on Sunset Ave. Chief DeBenedetto was first on scene to confirm a vehicle had driven through the convenience store after the driver had mistaken the gas for the break pedal. 7-8-5 and 7-8-2 arrived on scene to check for any more possible victims, stabilize the vehicle, and pull a protection hose line. Westhampton War Memorial Ambulance Association assessed the two victims who suffered non-life threatening injuries from the accident. The vehicle was quickly removed and the store was back open by 8:30pm with the exception of their new drive-up service.
