On October 9, 2018 at 3:43pm the department was activated for a Mutual Aid on a Working Residential Structure Fire to the Quogue Fire Department. Their Chiefs were on scene at 11 Lamb Ave with fire in the basement of a 2 story private dwelling.

Quogue’s Engine arrived and began making entry to the basement from an outside entrance as Westhampton Asst Chief Raynor and a Quogue firefighter searched the first floor locating the basement stairs and no victims or extension to the first floor. Crews found fire in the basement with a broken water pipe above which possibly kept the fire from rapidly spreading. The handlines from Quogue extinguished the fire in the basement while Westhampton deployed a third line to the front door and stood ready. Upon the main body of the fire being knocked down, members from both departments began overhauling the first floor walls and basement stairwell for extension finding hidden pockets of fire in the wall, which were quickly extinguished.

All Westhampton Beach units were back in service by 5pm. The Southampton Town Fire Marshal's Office was requested by the Quogue Fire Department to investigate the cause. Quogue Village police were also on scene.
