On October 25, 2017 at 9:47pm the department was activated for an unknown type fire in the vicinity of 473 dune road. Upon the arrival of 3rd Assistant Chief Kevin Raynor, he found an active vehicle fire in the driveway of 440 Dune Road.

Engine 781 was first due and stretched their 1 3/4" front bumper hand line and began to extinguish the fire. The engine chauffeur connected to the hydrant in case additional water supply was needed. Tanker 789 and Engine 782 arrived and assisted Engine 781. The fire was quickly extinguished and units returned to service.

The Southampton Town Fire Marshals office was called to investigate the cause of the fire. The Westhampton Beach Village Police were also on scene investigating. All units were back in service at 10:25pm.
